There have only been two official Iowa first family residences, the previous location is 2900 Grand Ave (1949-1976). Before 1949, Iowa governors were responsible for providing their own housing while in office. (1917-1921 Governor Harding was allowed to use a home the legislature recently purchased as a part of the capitol complex expansion) |
